ICTAN researcher Jara Pérez wins third place in the Ibero-American Final of the ‘Solo de Ciencia’ scientific monologue competition.

He defended his proposal ‘Íntegramente integral’ on 27 November at the Mario Vargas Llosa theatre in Lima, Peru.

Jara Pérez-Jiménez, researcher at the Institute of Food Science and Technology and Nutrition (ICTAN-CSIC) and leader of the research group Non-extractable polyphenols, antioxidants and dietary fibre in health (POLIFIBAN), has represented Spain in the Ibero-American Final of the first Scientific Monologue contest ‘Solo de Ciencia’ after winning the jury’s prize, as well as the audience’s prize, in the national final.

With his proposal ‘Íntegramente integral’ he has once again highlighted the nutritional importance of fibre and, using as a resource idioms about bread adapted to the Ibero-American context, he has highlighted the importance of wholemeal flours as opposed to refined flours.

You can watch the full performance here with Jara’s monologue from 55:50 to 01:01:36.
